Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk is a prewritten adventure that takes place in Phandalin, a fictional town that many players will remember from the Lost Mines of Phandelver project that was included with the Dungeons & & Dragons starter set from 2014 and was many players’ initial experience with 5E and tabletop roleplaying games in general.

Phandelver and Below, according to a Wizards of the Coast representative speaking with IGN, is “a conventional dream experience with a traditional D&D feel and a dark and foreboding twist that’s got a scary motion picture feel.”

Additionally, the project will “deepen the secret of the obelisks discovered throughout Faerun,” and it will focus on a sinister scheme being carried out by some Goblins.

When played through in its entirety, the experience will also give players new gaming options, including magic items and a beastiary, and it will advance players from level 1 to level 12.
