Invisible Assassins! More Avatar!
With Summer Game Fest and the Season of Big Announcements quickly approaching, Ubisoft is gearing up for June’s Ubisoft Forward showcase with a new teaser showcasing at least some of the games that’ll include — and one ambiguous hint that may or may not be Star Wars.
Ubisoft Forward, broadcasting live from Los Angeles, will take place on Monday, June 12 at 6pm BST/10am PDT. This is as good a cause as any to dust off that old Just Dance dance number, in my opinion. A hidden-content pre-show will begin half an hour beforehand.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and The Crew Motorfest have all been confirmed for a demonstration, and they will form the centrepiece of the event. It’s also likely that we’ll hear something new about the rest of Ubisoft’s ongoing projects, such as its free-to-play games and the interminably delayed Skull & Bones (though, as we recently learned, not the reimagined Prince of Persia: Sands of Time).
Ubisoft’s official announcement trailer for Forward Live.
Whether or whether Ubisoft’s Massive-developed Star Wars project will make its launching in “early 2024” is the big question, and the publisher’s brand-new showcase video doesn’t give anything away. However, it does confirm the presence of at least one hidden title, depicted in the teaser as a splash of gold and black over a rippling background with a not-exactly-subtle, “Wait, what’s that video game?”
On the 12th of June, all will be revealed during the broadcast of Ubisoft Forward, and if you’re wondering what else is happening as part of Summer Game Fest, you can consult Eurogamer’s handy guide.
