The Witcher’s Ciri Might Be Coming To Fortnite
Yennefer, another character from The Witcher series, will also be joining Ciri in Fortnite, as the latest update confirms. On Friday, June 23, at 4 AM PT/7 AM ET, both will be ready for use at the beginning of the game.
Their in-game appearances and the merchandise that will go along with them have been revealed in the image below, however the base prices have not yet been confirmed.
According to the original report, Ciri from The Witcher series may soon be available as a character skin in Fortnite as part of another collaboration with a successful media brand. A tweet from reputable Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey (via Shiina) reveals this.
On Twitter, Shiina revealed that the latest patch would contain a player symbol using her likeness, which would then become encrypted along with the rest of the set. According to the leaker, the skin can be purchased through the Item Shop “soon.” The source of the leak did not reveal any other information, such as the price or release date of the skin.
If it turns out to be true, Ciri will join Geralt of Rivia as the second character skin provided to Fortnite from The Witcher series. In the fourth episode of the first season’s battle pass, Geralt made an appearance earlier this year. The practise of include certified characters in a combat pass and then releasing a related character shortly after has become standard procedure for Impressive Games. There is precedent for this type of marketing strategy, as Spider-Man was initially available as a fight pass skin and then Green Goblin was released in the Item Shop later.
Despite the popularity of The Witcher, Impressive Games has not confirmed whether or not Ciri would be added to Fortnite. The current Netflix series and the video game trilogy in The Witcher series have generated a large fan base. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the third installment, recently sold over 50 million copies, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time.
