The first, heart-pounding teaser for Squid Game season 2 has been released by Netflix, and it has us very excited.
Old clips of returning characters Seong Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-Jae), the Front Man (Lee Byung-Hun), and Hwang Jun-Ho (Wi Ha-Jun) are shown while the strange traffic signal, green light music plays in the background. Gong Yoo also makes an appearance as the video games’ employer.
Newcomers to the cast are up next: Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun are all pressing the green button, indicating they want to play, as they sign up for the lineup.
Season 1 of Squid Game ended on a massive cliffhanger, so when Season 2 of the show finally premieres, there will be unprecedented levels of anticipation. We still have some time to wait, though, as no official comeback date for the show has been announced as of yet.
The start date for filming of Gi-Hun has been revealed by star Lee. He added, “Squid Game 2 will begin filming in the summer season, and the shooting is expected to last about 10 months.” Similarly, we spent roughly ten months working on Season 1, although it was also due to delays caused by COVID-19. Season 2 will take longer to complete because of its expanded scope.
You can count on us to be officially intrigued by the promise of something “larger in scale,” too, even if we can’t quite put our finger on what about Season 2 may be bigger than Season 1.
