The role Mads Mikkelsen most wants to play has been exposed.
When asked whether there is another brand he ‘d like to join, Mikkelsen tells GamesRadar+, “It’s not a genuine franchise but if you speak about category… I always wished to be a zombie.” In addition to Star Wars (Rogue One) and James Bond (Casino Royale) he has recently worked on Marvel’s Doctor Strange, Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and now, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
In Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the actor portrays Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi who became a NASA scientist. “A Danish Nazi zombie,” Mikkelsen elaborates. I should have thought of that first!
A talent like Mikkelsen probably wouldn’t be the first to want to play a zombie animal. He’s played Bond baddies in Casino Royale and Doctor Strange, as well as the cannibal psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter in Bryan Fuller’s short-lived but generally valuable TV series. He also portrayed the “Bitch” in the music video for Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
Mikkelsen’s character, Voller, believes he can use the Dial of Destiny to make the world a better place in Indiana Jones 5. To prevent this from happening, Indy must enlist the help of his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge).
The filming of The Bastard, in which he portrays the role of military captain Ludvig von Kahlen, was recently covered by the actor. With this long-form drama, he’ll be working with A Royal Affair’s Nicolaj Arcel again.
