Rough timing as constantly, SNK
SNK has announced an open beta for their next premium punch-up The King of Fighters XIII Global Match to test out the rollback netcode change. The PS4 beta test will run from June 5th until the 11th.
All PS4 players will be able to try out a beta version of the improved sequel from 2010—the last KoF game to use 2D animation for its lightning-fast, intense action. Everyone will have access to a number of different gameplay modes, such as the “Practise Lobby,” “Online Vs.”, and “Customization.” SNK will collect data during the beta’s six days to determine how well the new netcode is holding up.
It’s great that KoF XIII is receiving the treatment, as it’s one of SNK’s most important games ever made and deserves to live on for at least another generation. As they often seem to do, SNK has chosen an inconvenient moment to conduct their King of Fighters XIII beta, only days after Capcom released Street Fighter 6.Whatever the case may be, this is fantastic news for fans of the KoF series, and here’s hoping that enthusiasm for KoF XIII continues to grow and eventually dominates the digital and physical marketplaces.
You can get King of Fighters XIII: Global Match for PC right now. It has to do with the future of the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.
