Eversoul interview: Cheol Hui Kim, Chief Director of Eversoul at Nine Ark Inc., discusses the video game’s characters, advancement procedure, and upcoming occasions to anticipate
Beautiful visuals and colourful characters are only the beginning of what makes Eversoul, a mobile role-playing game with an anime theme, so remarkable. Recently, I was able to speak with Cheol Hui Kim, the Chief Director of Eversoul at Nine Ark Inc., about the game’s development process and what players might expect in the future.
Q: Can you present yourself and your function at Nine Ark Inc.?
A: Hi, I’m Cheol Hui Kim, and I head up Eversoul at Nine Ark Inc. as the company’s chief director. I am the 15-year-old Vtuber Kim Mephi you see in the Roadmap films, and you may have seen me on the special broadcast before the game’s release.
Q: Eversoul jobs the gamer with being the Savior in an isekai experience. What do you believe makes Eversoul stand apart from other titles in this popular isekai category?
A: Eversoul’s reality is neither a fantasy or martial arts universe, but rather “the future of the world we reside in.” For this reason, many of the game’s Souls are grounded in real-world artefacts, myths, and misunderstandings, making them seem both foreign and familiar at the same time.
In addition, the characters of Eversoul recount the history of humanity’s flight from Earth to avoid destruction and their subsequent return to the planet to settle accounts with the Souls who had been living there all along. The protagonist, although being human, must centre himself on the side of the Souls and fight mankind since the Saviour is not the hero of humans but the saviour of the Souls. Information about this may be found in the forthcoming fifth chapter of the game’s main story mode.
Q: One of the important things I enjoy about the video game is how beautiful the character styles are. Can you speak about the idea procedure that entered into creating these Souls?
* Lizelotte, the Soul of Gungnir, the weapon of Norse God Odin. Odin, the owner of Gungir has one eye, however Lizelotte’s eye spot is simply a principle.
A: As you might understand, the Souls in Eversoul have artifacts that are their origin, and usually these artifacts show the aesthetic appeals of their Soul owner. While attempting to break away from the visual of the artifacts, we attempted to keep our styles connected to some level, and thanks to such efforts, Eversoul’s special character styles were developed.
Q: I definitely like the Evertalk function of the video game. How tough (or simple?) was it to handcraft special characters for every single Soul so that gamers can connect with them and find their stories on Evertalk?
A: We wanted players to feel like they have a continuing connection to the Souls through the bond point system, which includes everything from casual interactions and outings to more involved interactions like Evertalk and Love Story. We wanted players to feel at home with the ever-charming Souls by engaging in small chat with them, especially because the Love Story takes more time and effort. We were hesitant to utilise the feature at first because of the effort involved, but the results were really fulfilling, and Evertalk looks to be functioning effectively as the tool for Souls to instantly convey their true emotions.
Q: What were the greatest obstacles you dealt with throughout advancement, and how did you conquer them?
A: We put in a lot of work to make sure that incorporating Town’s SNG (Social Network Gaming) system and the bond system into a character-collecting game doesn’t detract from the core gameplay but, rather, fits in seamlessly. It wasn’t an easy task, but it gave rise to what makes Eversoul such a unique video game.
Q: There are numerous fascinating characters to gather, level up, and see in action throughout fight. Do you have an individual favourite amongst them?
A: After the upgrade for the Everschool holiday celebration, I found myself favouring Queen Yuria instead of the bright and cheery Jiho. Queen Yuria is not yet a playable character you may summon; however, we plan to reveal a revamped version of Queen Yuria as a Soul you can call in the near future.
* Yuria, Queen of the Everschool Celebration… When I say “Yuria,” I’m referring to the president of the student council.
Q: What is your message to gamers who might be reluctant or daunted to check out the video game?
A: Your bride is waiting for you on Eversoul.
Q: What can gamers anticipate in regards to brand-new characters, occasions, and story in the future?
A: First up we have the Tower of Origin which will be launched quickly, and Main Story Chapter 5: King of Humans upgrade. The Tower of Origin is anticipated to be upgraded late May, and Chapter 5 is slated for early June.
Tales about the era when Souls were only artefacts can be found in the Tower of Origin. Players may expect a fresh challenge at the Tower of Origin, as enemies there will have unique abilities thanks to their Keepsakes, Artefacts, and Ultimate Skills.
Beginning with Chapter 5 of the Main Story, the opponent’s true identity and any hidden strategies will be revealed one by one. The majority of the plot that has been shown thus far has only served as an introduction to the game’s setting. This is the beginning of Eversoul’s true narrative.
Many players are enjoying Guild Raids at the moment. You can compete both inside and between guilds with the help of Evil Soul Subjugation, a skill that is geared up for rapid advancement. We’re counting on your fervent anticipation.
As opposed to calling it a turning point, we are proud of how attentively we have incorporated the suggestions of our players across all of the game’s neighbourhoods.
We’ll keep this up as much as feasible, and 15-year-old Vtuber Kim Mephi’s quarterly roadmap films and the regular designer notes will reveal all the details of upcoming releases in advance.
Q: Is there a specific turning point that the group is most pleased with (for instance, downloads reached, variety of active gamers, the neighborhood etc.)?
A: Rather than calling it a turning point, we take pride in having actually listened well to the feedback of our gamers through different neighborhoods, and striving to show these recommendations as much as possible in the video game.
We will continue to keep this position as much as possible, and comprehensive info on the updates to come will be divulged early by means of the roadmap videos developed by the 15-year-old Vtuber Kim Mephi every quarter, and the routine designer notes.
