After many, many years and numerous successful betas, Diablo 4’s error codes and lines continue to block players from entering Sanctuary. Despite the multiple launch trailers building the buzz, the game is finally out in the open, at least in Early Access, but not without concern, and Blizzard is now addressing the difficulties.
GamesRadar+ has covered a lot of live-service launches, and we know all too well how the servers struggle under the weight of millions of users trying to access the site at once. Diablo franchise manager Rod Fergusson assured us that Blizzard was “ready” for the launch of Diablo 4, yet it’s not unexpected that players are experiencing issues like extended wait times and error codes.
On Reddit, in a thread with the ironic title “the best launch ever,” many players are complaining that they can’t get into the game during its Early Access period, despite the title. One error message that’s being noticed frequently by PS4 owners is one that says the user has “no legitimate licence.” Blizzard is aware of the issue and promises “more details” soon. Adam Fletcher, the Diablo 4 community manager, has made his major online forum post available here.

I haven’t had any trouble with error messages when trying to start Diablo 4, but my RTX 3060-equipped laptop crashed as the opening cinematic was starting.
