Microsoft, as if its three scheduled broadcasts for E3 2023 weren’t enough, will reveal even more video games on July 11 during the indie-focused ID@Xbox Showcase.
‘BIG NEWS!’ reads a tweet from Xbox. On July 11, ID@Xbox and IGN will join forces to exclusively present the second ID@Xbox Showcase. Watch previews, play demos, and learn about upcoming games before anybody else! You can get a full rundown of all of IGN’s social media channels, where the stream will be available, in the main announcement, which will go live at 10am PDT/ 1pm EDT/ 6pm BST.
Xbox’s Summer Game Demo Fest begins on July 11 and, like Steam’s Next Fest, will offer a variety of free indie demonstrations until July 17.
The ID@Xbox programme is the publisher’s way of reaching out to independent developers and publishers, and it encompasses anything from true small-team indie games to massive (but still technically indie third-party productions) video games like Hitman 3 or High On Life. Games like Coffee Talk Episode 2 and details on the second DLC pack for the smash hit Vampire Survivors were featured on last year’s ID@Xbox Showcases programme, among a wide variety of other appealing indies, despite the event’s usual focus on games on the smaller end of the spectrum.
The Xbox Games Showcase Extended is Microsoft’s fourth event leading up to E3 2023, following the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct. Xbox obviously wants you to know that there will soon be far too many great video game releases for any single platform to handle them all.
If you’re looking for even more new games to play in 2023, you might want to check out the Nintendo Direct for June of that year.
