An Exhibition of Games from the Future Pacific Drive, one of the most intriguing new survival video games, got a facelift thanks to Powered by Intel. In contrast to other products in this genre, Pacific Drive places your station waggon squarely in the middle of the action, rather than making you responsible for securing a character from the components (such as thirst, hunger, and basic health).
Wow, that’s some serious doing. Essentially, Pacific Drive is a survival game in which you race throughout the Olympic Exclusions Zone in search of supplies and then use those supplies to improve your character’s chances of staying alive. Here’s the deal though, you’ll be improving the automobile.
You’ll return to your primary base of operations—a abandoned garage—between missions to make repairs, investigate potential upgrades, fine-tune your vehicle, and plot more perilous routes across the dangerous zone in pursuit of better loot.

It’s a fascinating feedback loop, especially considering how much in common the goal of becoming a mechanic in a supernatural event set in the Pacific Northwest and the fundamentals of a survival video game have in common.
Designer Ironwood Studios has implemented a strong feeling of physicality to everything from motion, to interaction, and personalisation to strengthen your bond with the automobile, your only real instrument for survival out there in the zone, and means of escape. If you’re stuck in an anomaly-filled headache and you need to start the engine by physically connecting with the secret and then get the vehicle rolling by shifting the gear out of park, you’d better hope you don’t stall the darn thing.
We can’t wait for Pacific Drive’s 2023 release on PC (through Steam and the Epic Games Store) and PS5, when we can finally get our hands on it. Be sure to add Pacific Drive to your Steam Wishlist so that you don’t miss any future updates.
