Syberia franchise to get animated series adjustment

Confessions of a Cult Member A new animated series based on Syberia is in the works. Microids, a video game publisher, and WHAT THE PROD, a production company, have made a joint announcement that they will work together to bring Benoit Sokal’s tales of exploration and secrecy to life in a whole new medium.

The long-running experience series, which began in 1999 with the publication of PC experience Amerzone, itself an adaptation of Sokal’s 1986 comic-book series of the same name, is expected to be faithfully adapted in the animated series, though details are scant at the moment. The first Syberia game came published in 2002 for PC, PS2, and Xbox, and followed intrepid adventurer Kate Walker as she made her way across Europe and into Russia in search of a secret and her own sense of identity.

Three further albums expanded upon these themes, showing further aspects of Walker’s voyage as she explored previously uncharted territory and long-lost cultures. Though Sokal passed away in 2021, during the production of the latest entry Syberia: The universe Before, the animated series is confident in its ability to introduce a whole new generation of fans to their universe and characters.

Martine Sokal said of the new project, “My husband would have been honoured to witness his work being established as an animated series.” Syberiahe created a lovely and timeless world, and I’m glad this update will help it reach a new audience.

The creators of the new show have expressed their desire to deliver a high-quality, authentic show that will appeal to both established players and newcomers, citing the wildly popular film Arcane: A League of Legends Story as the benchmark they hope to reach.

Ashargin Poire, President of WHAT THE PROD, said, “20 years after the release of the first episode of Syberiaour aspiration is to craft an animated series influenced by the video game’s unbelievable universe, speaking with the fans as well as newbies thanks to a contemporary composing design commemorating these absolute best dystopian and uchronic work of arts.” To paraphrase the director, “The art instructions, the type and quality of animation will ensure an astonishing experience midway between truth and dream.”

The Syberia animated series is still in the planning stages at this time. There was no announcement of a release date.
