Oscar Isaac wants Pedro Pascal to become a part of the Spider-Verse cast.
When asked who should join the cast of the third Spider-Verse film, Isaac told GQ, “They’re so dazzling at discovering the ideal individual for the ideal character, but possibly Pedro Pascal.” Let’s find something that will impress him. Surely he’s a Spider-Person, although a cranky old one.
In the sequel to 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, Oscar Isaac voices Spider-Man 2099/Miguel O’Hara.
Jake Johnson voices Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man, Issa Rae Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya Hobart “Hobie” Brown/Spider-Punk, Jorma Taccone Vulture, and Jason Schwartzman The Spot; the rest of the voice ensemble is as impressive.
Pascal is juggling a number of projects at once, having just joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2 and Zach Cregger’s upcoming horror film Weapons. He has also recently written on the filming of Freaky Tales by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, as well as Drive-Away Dolls by Ethan Coen. If he’s lucky, he’ll find enough time to join Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy on their next adventure, set to debut in 2024.
The June 2, 2023 release date has been confirmed for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The release date of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third sequel, is March 20, 2024. A Gwen Stacy movie sequel is also rumoured to be in production. Check out our comprehensive rundown of every upcoming superhero film from 2020 onwards.
